With the Dynatrace Problem Synchronization configured and running, let’s see how it’s working.

Where can I find Dynatrace Problems in JIRA?

From the Dynatrace menu you can use either:

  • Dynatrace Issue Queue - to see a queue of all Issues created from Dynatrace Problems synchronized with your Jira instance

  • Environments - to see the Issues created from Problems in a specific Dynatrace environment

What Dynatrace information is available in a Jira Issue?

When a Jira Issue is created from a Dynatrace Problem several fields are populated:

  • Problem ID - holds problem ID used to get problem information from Dynatrace

  • Problem tags - holds problem tags used for filtering by tag

  • Environment - holds Dynatrace environment name to determine environment configuration applied

  • Root Cause - holds root cause entity of Dynatrace problem with link to Insight CMDB

  • Affected Entities - holds entities affected by Dynatrace problem with links to Insight CMDB

  • Description - holds raw data from the Dynatrace problem

What is the Problem Panel?

You can use the Problem Panel feature to get some online status from Dynatrace in the Activity tabs of the Jira issue. It contains two tabs:

Dynatrace Problem - contais a previeew of the Dynatrace Problem

Dynatrace Events - contains a view of the Dynatrace events related to the Dynatrace problem

How can I switch to Dynatrace from the Jira issue?

From the Dynatrace Problem tab you can you can switch to the Dynatrace Problem with a single click:

Also. from the Dynatrace Event tab you can you can switch directly to the desired Dynatrace Event:

How can I get some Smartscape context from a Jira Issue?

If want to use Smartscape data from Insight to analyze the root cause of the problem or get more details about the impacted CI’s just click on the desired object to see the Object Overview:

From here you can switch to the relationship graph of the object using Show Graph:

For the complete view of the object in Insight, click on its Key or Name:
