The extension is distributed as the file custom_alanata.python.nagios-VERSION.zip and is available in the Download section.

Deployment process

  1. Add Alanata’s certificate to the Dynatrace credential vault. The exact procedure is documented here.

  2. Upload Alanata's certificate to each ActiveGate host within the ActiveGate group selected for running this extension. Save the alanata.pem certificate file in the following location:

    1. Linux: <CONFIG>/remotepluginmodule/agent/conf/certificates/ (default: /var/lib/dynatrace/remotepluginmodule/agent/conf/certificates/)

    2. Windows: %PROGRAMDATA%\dynatrace\remotepluginmodule\agent\conf\certificates\

  3. Import extension into Dynatrace server. In the Extensions menu, press the Upload custom extension button and add our custom_alanata.python.nagios-2.x.x.zip

  4. Find extension custom:alanata.python.nagios in the list of installed extensions and Add monitoring configuration. Configuration options are documented here.

  • For Linux ActiveGate: /var/lib/dynatrace/remotepluginmodule/log/extensions/datasources/custom_alanata.python.nagios/python3.log

  • For Windows ActiveGate: C:\ProgramData\dynatrace\remotepluginmodule\log\extensions\datasources\custom_alanata.python.nagios\python.exe.log
